The Centre for Rural Health Research engages in several forms of knowledge translation to present research findings. We have developed toolkits to assist communities, care providers, and decision makers with planning local maternity services. Each toolkit is presented through multiple media – a poster sized flow chart, an online resource, and an academic publication. Starting in 2016, we are launching a “What About Rural?” campaign that includes short videos to introduce and outline issues in rural health care services in BC. In addition, Dr. Kornelsen and Dr. Grzybowski write letters to the editor and give interviews to the media.
The BC Rural Health Network (BCRHN) consists of healthcare advocacy organizations working in cooperation with healthcare policymakers. The purpose of the Network is to promote and support a health services system that improves and sustains the health and well-being of residents of rural communities across British Columbia. – bcrhn.ca
