The goal of this research is to document Canadian women’s experiences of, and motivations for planned unassisted home births. Objectives include documenting:
1) the reasons for research participants’ decisions to have an unassisted home birth;
2) participants’ experiences leading up to, during, and after the birthing process;
3) the response of their families and their community and
4) retrospective assessments of their decisions.
